Hello and welcome to the new BaseKit blog!

You may remember the old BaseKit blog over at Basekitblog.co.uk – but this promises to be a whole different animal!

First, let’s get this out of the way – this bit of the site is build in Wordpress. Why? Because currently BaseKit does not have a blog widget. It will, and you can be sure that blog will move over to that when it goes live, but right now we want to get the blog out there and Wordpress is the best blog engine around. So we’re on Wordpress.

We hope that the BaseKit blog is more than a series of dry updates from our dev team about what bugs have been fixed and when updates are coming (this will be included though!) Or occasional reports and fun pictures from team building exercises and office parties. (this will probably be included too!)

We want the blog to be useful to all internet professionals. We have some great articles lined up on design topics – from the very basics of design for those just getting started to great inspirational posts we hope will lead to some great ideas. We have some posts about how to market your site or business online using all manner of tools at your disposal. We have tutorials and how-tos from our experts showing you how to get the best out of BaseKit. And we even have some fun posts, because we know the internet isn’t just for work!

Essentially, we want to write content that is informative, interesting and entertaining to our users.

On Mondays we’ll be updating you about what’s happening behind the scenes at BaseKit – what we’ve been working on, what to expect, where we’ll be (the marketing team like to get out and about) and whether we’re doing anything interesting .

So – here is today’s Monday Update (on Thursday, because we were still working on getting the site up earlier this week!) -

• We have a whole new site! You may have seen it being tested over at basekit.co.uk – but now we’ve taken the plunge and implemented it here too! The site is built on BaseKit and really shows off what it can do. The site was designed by the talented Karl Westin (who also created the lovely image at the top of this post) of Curt Design. We’re really pleased with it!

• Updated undo & redo functions – now easily backtrack on any of your actions in BaseKit, such as text editing
